Reverend Jesse Jackson Passing

Prince William County Democrats

Reverend Jesse Jackson

Reverend Jesse Jackson’s passing marks the loss of a towering voice of conscience, who refused to let America forget its promises of freedom and equality. He walked, prayed, and organized so that Americans and all marginalized people could freely exercise their right to vote, knowing that the ballot is our most powerful tool for change. He challenged systems of economic injustice, insisting that every worker, every family, and every community deserved a fair share of opportunity, not just survival. Through it all, he lifted up the dignity of every human being, reminding us that our differences need not divide us and calling us, again and again, to “keep hope alive” by continuing the work he so faithfully began.
